Auditing policies allow you to track the activities of users and the access of resources on a computer. Event log settings are used to configure auditing for security events, such as successful and failed logon attempts. You ll frequently face the same situation in real applications: Business logic is mixed with data-access code and even pageflow logic. SCCM 2007 is an expensive product and complicated to install, and for Bob s purposes, it is not likely to yield hardware inventory information that is any more useful than MAP Toolkit 4.0. However, SCCM 2007 can be a valuable tool, both for Bob s proposed Windows 7 deployment project and for managing the workstations afterwards. To modify Local Security Policy, you use the Local Security Policy console (see Figure 16-1), which is found in the Administrative Tools folder. The Local Security Policy console provides a standard two-paned console window. The tree in the left pane shows the categories of policies you can assign.
